The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service seeks a person to serve as an Engineering Equipment Operator, WG-5716-9, for Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in Titusville, Florida.

This position involves operating heavy equipment and motor vehicles, reading blueprints, and maintaining field infrastructure and habitats. Qualified applicants will have knowledge of terrain and grade elevations, ability to install pipes/structures, perform agricultural tasks, interpret instructions, and troubleshoot

Qualifications

• Knowledge of various terrain/conditions and understands grade levels; able to install pipes/structures at specified elevations.
• Skill in operating Heavy Equipment and Motor Vehicles.
• Ability to perform agricultural tasks such as plowing, planting crops, spraying, etc.
• Ability to interpret instructions/specifications (includes blueprint reading and shooting grade elevations)
• Knowledge of equipment repairs and how to troubleshoot breakdown issues when operating equipment.
• Work practices (keeping workshop and equipment neat, clean, and in order)
