Job summary

Summary

You will serve as a Engineering Equipment Operator with National Park Service. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately mid-December to the end of November, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year. (2 weeks / 1 pay period).

Major Duties

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Operates gas- or diesel-powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled or crawler-type traction, such as road graders, tractors with bulldozer or angle dozer blades, front-end loaders, backhoes, wheel loaders, trench diggers, and large Industrial tractors with pan or scraper attachments. Operates equipment to push, pull, pile, excavate, backfill, grade, or level earth and/or refuse. Operate vehicles with auxiliary attachments (e.g., snowplow blade, rotary snow blower, mower, sweeper, sanding units) to perform duties related to roads maintenance. Uses equipment to perform such functions as cutting, moving, digging, grading, and rolling earth, sand, stone, and other materials to maintain ditches, road shoulders, and beds. Operate various types of equipment and trucks on congested roadways, in inclement weather and on steep and narrow roadways.
