Job Description

We are seeking a full‑time Engineering Development Technician to support the development of new capabilities for York by assisting in the build and test of prototype systems. Primary responsibilities include working independently or with a small team on complex mechanical assemblies, soldering, harness build, inspection, test, and more. Additional tasks involve inspecting, assembling, integrating, and operationally checking flight hardware and ground support equipment. Candidates should be excited to join a close‑knitted team passionate about space systems and be eager to continuously learn and improve.

Responsibilities
  • Build and test prototype systems, including mechanical assemblies, soldering, harnesses, and related components.
  • Inspect, assemble, integrate, and operationally check flight hardware and ground‑support equipment.
  • Work independently or as part of a small team.
  • Use hand tools and precision tools as required.
Qualifications
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing work assignments.
  • Experience interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Comfortable operating within the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Electrical proficiency with harness and mechanical build experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and precision tools.
  • 0–3 years of experience.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work in restrictive spaces.
Desired Qualifications
  • IPC and J-STD certifications.
  • Two‑year technical degree.
  • Experience with forklift operations.
  • Experience with overhead crane operations.
