Job summary

Ruveon in Iowa is seeking candidates for its Engineering Development Program to train across site operations, focusing on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting production lines. You will participate in plant trials, perform routine analytics, and document results.

Through multiple rotations, you will work with unit technicians and engineering teams to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals while developing your technical skills and leadership potential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred).
  • Knowledge of Engineering tools and software and the ability to read and understand P&ID and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Gain experience across the site through multiple rotations to understand site operation and collaborate with unit technicians and leadership to provide high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Assist operations in evaluating and achieving unit performance goals related to safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, operability, and cost.
  • Gain experience in small and large project scope development and implementation – interfacing with technical professionals from other disciplines.
  • Track and monitor process/unit key performance indicators.
  • Participate with investigations of unit performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability leading to proposal and implementation of sound technical solutions.
  • Maintain and develop unit operating documentation (SOPs, process descriptions, material and energy balances, P&IDs, and operating data collection).
  • Collaborate on execution of plant trials directed at enhancing unit performance.
  • Engage in continued development of self with peer coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Support Site and Unit Production System improvements, OnePSS.

Engineering Development Program

What you will do

The Engineering Development Program focuses on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production. Operates machines or equipment, setting up and adjusting factors such as temperature, pressure, flow, and material reactions. Manually controls the unit or operates it via a control system. Runs up and shuts down production facilities, including product changeover activities. Cleans and decontaminates equipment. Maintains housekeeping of the workplace. Drives forklifts. Fills and takes over tank wagons. Conducts routine analytics and takes samples. Coordinates equipment maintenance and repairs with the technical team. Documents and communicates work results during shift handovers.

  • Gain experience in small and large project scope development and implementation – interfacing with technical professionals from other disciplines (e.g. process control, project engineering, environmental and utility services operations, and process development).
  • Track and monitor process/unit key performance indicators.
  • Participate with investigations of unit performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability leading to proposal and implementation of sound technical solutions.
  • Maintain and develop unit operating documentation (e.g. standard operating procedures, process descriptions, material and energy balances, P&IDs, and operating data collection and retrieval).
  • Collaborate on execution of plant trials directed at enhancing unit performance.
  • Engage in continued development of self with peer coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Support Site and Unit Production System improvements, OnePSS.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred).
  • Have a working knowledge of Engineering tools and software and the ability to read and understand process flow diagrams, line drawings, P&ID and schematics.
  • Ability to express ideas and information orally and in writing in a clear, concise, and understandable manner.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and inclusive culture.
  • Ability to correctly analyze problems and think independently.
  • Ability to evaluate and select alternatives based on realistic limits and different perspectives, understand the full implication of actions before proceeding.
  • Ability to consistently motivate yourself, take calculated risks, make timely decisions, and improve results.
  • Ability to effectively manage changing situations and maintain composure in pressure or conflict situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in internship or co-op work in a related industry.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above at the time of graduation.
  • Ability to work a rotatating schedule.

This posting will expire on January 1st, 2027.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $54000-81000 per year. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
