Job description

Engineering Data Systems Specialist

Job type: Full Time · Department: Mechanical · Work type: On-Site · USD 75,000-100,000 / year

St. Louis, Missouri, United States

About Us

At Intramotev, we are dedicated to revolutionizing the freight industry by liberating tons of freight from congested highways, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing transportation efficiency. We are deploying self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles to transform freight logistics and bring innovation to our rail network.

Based in St. Louis, MO, we are committed to promoting industrial revitalization, saving lives, and minimizing the environmental impact of trucking/transportation. We actively foster a work environment for every teammate that's welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunities for professional growth. Find your future with us.

Role Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Data Systems Specialist to build and own the engineering data pipeline that carries our designs from concept to production — PDM configuration, formal release flow, and ERP integration — in support of the development of our self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles. Today that pipeline runs on Autodesk Inventor and Vault Professional feeding product structure and BOMs into Odoo ERP, and the electrical team's wire-harness designs in RapidHarness need the same clean path into that release and BOM model. This is a builder's role: it calls for someone who has stood up or substantially reconfigured Vault Professional from scratch and is looking to own PDM → release → ERP/harness end to end, not administer a pipeline someone else already built.

This role reports to the Director of Engineering and works closely with the design engineering team and Manufacturing/Supply Chain — the design team drafts parts; this role owns the system and data that carries their output downstream. This is a full-time, 100% in-office role based in St. Louis, MO. This role works within a team of 3–10 engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineering Data Pipeline Ownership: Design and continuously improve how engineering data moves from concept through release to production — ECN/ECO workflows, release states, and change authority — end to end across PDM, release, and downstream systems.

  • Vault Implementation & Configuration: Own the configuration of Autodesk Vault Professional — lifecycles, revision schemes, categories, custom properties, permissions, and client/server deployment — built and maintained from the ground up, not just administered.

  • ERP Integration: Build and own the path from Vault-managed product structures and BOMs into Odoo ERP, keeping Manufacturing and Supply Chain working from accurate, release-controlled data.

  • Harness Data Integration: Bring RapidHarness wire-harness design data into the same BOM and release model as the mechanical/electrical product structure, so it isn't a side path.

  • Data Integrity & Governance: Own the data-integrity standards — version control, naming conventions, categories, and archival — that keep the pipeline reliable.

  • Configuration Control: Design and maintain the part-numbering scheme that underpins the product structure as it matures toward production.

  • Cross-Team Enablement: Support designers and Manufacturing/Supply Chain on PDM/CAD workflows and troubleshoot pipeline issues as they come up.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $75,000–$100,000

Intramotev offers a comprehensive benefits package for all team members, including:

  • Medical coverage: We cover 100% of employee medical premiums, plus low-cost dental and vision options.

  • Vacation: Full-time employees enjoy unlimited paid time off.

  • Equity: Full-time employees receive equity in the company.

  • Parental leave: New parents receive paid time off to spend quality time with their family.

About You: Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Hands‑on experience setting up and/or substantially configuring Autodesk Vault (Professional preferred) in a multi‑user engineering environment — lifecycles, revision schemes, custom properties, permissions, and client/server deployment. Configuration/implementation experience, not only end‑user familiarity.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent hands‑on Vault/PDM configuration experience. A degree does not substitute for Vault configuration experience.

  • Comfort with Windows‑based engineering IT — clients, servers, and user access/permissions.

  • Experience with product structures/BOMs and formal engineering change/release processes (ECN/ECO or equivalent).

  • Clear interest in building and owning an engineering data pipeline across PDM, release, and downstream systems — not only ticket‑driven support.

  • Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches.

  • Practical collaborator who works with both designers and operations, explains process clearly, ships incremental improvements rather than waiting for a full spec, and is comfortable working as an individual contributor in a teaming environment.

  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.

  • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:

  • Odoo (or other ERP) integration with CAD/PDM BOMs — mapping, sync, or process ownership.

  • RapidHarness or other wire‑harness design tools — administering them, or integrating their export data into PDM/ERP.

  • Autodesk Inventor familiarity, enough to support and troubleshoot the design team's workflows.

  • Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Vault API, SQL) to reduce manual pipeline work.

  • Manufacturing, rail, Electric Vehicle (EV), or similar hardware product environment.

  • Windows Server / SQL Server exposure in support of Vault.

Typical Education and Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through technical education (e.g. Associate and/or Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Relocation

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
