Job summary

B&G Foods is seeking an Engineering Co-op to manage engineering projects within the packing or process department at the manufacturing plant in Ankeny, IA. The role focuses on safety, quality, reliability metrics and hands-on commissioning/verification of new equipment.

Ideal candidates are sophomores pursuing an engineering degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA and a willingness to relocate for the duration of the assignment. Cooperation across teams and adherence to safety procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• Sophomore+ currently pursuing an Engineering Degree required.
• GPA minimum 3.0 requested.
• Majors: Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Packaging preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the operation to meet safety, quality and reliability metrics.
• Commissioning, Qualification and Verification of new equipment.
• Sustainability improvements (waste reduction, energy savings).
• Document new and modified standard operating procedures.
• Communicate results and teach best practices to operators.
• Problem analysis and solving for department opportunities.
• Participate in experimental orders for new initiatives.
• Present improvement findings to plant leadership.
