GOTAFE in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a civil engineering student to support structural inspections, including bridges above and underwater, and assist with bridge design and load rating tasks. You’ll work with licensed engineers on diverse projects, spending time in both the office and the field to collect data.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor’s degree, with familiarity in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Blue Beam or Civil 3D, plus Microsoft Office and PDF editing.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Participate in structural inspections, including bridge inspections above and underwater.
• Assist with bridge design and load rating tasks.
• Collaborate with seasoned engineers on various projects.
• Spend time both in the office and in the field gathering data.
• Work alongside licensed professional engineers to create reports based on field data.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Junior or senior civil engineering students pursuing a bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Experience with software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Blue Beam, or Civil 3D is a plus.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe PDF or other PDF editing software is preferred.
• A valid driver's license.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly wage ranging from $22.00 to $26.00.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
