Job summary

Google is seeking a data-driven Analyst for its Trust & Safety team to protect users and advertisers across Google’s products, including Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads.

You will analyze vast data, investigate fraud, and work with engineers and product managers to build scalable anti-abuse systems that promote trust and safety on a global scale.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis, identifying trends, and drawing insights from data.
  • 2 years of experience managing projects and defining scope, goals and deliverables.
  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience with SQL, R, Python, or C++.
  • 2 years of experience with machine learning systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced statistical methods to large data sets to analyze impact of abuse on the Video ads ecosystem.
  • Perform fraud and spam investigations using various data sources and drive anti-abuse experiments.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to improve workflows via automation and anti-abuse systems.
  • Investigate complex fraud and develop scalable solutions for non-compliant publisher inventory, focusing on Video ads.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities including weekends/holidays and handle sensitive content.

Job description

Minimum qualifications

The mission of the Trust and Safety Ad Traffic Quality team is to make the ads ecosystem universally trusted and defended against invalid Traffic. On this team, you are a big-picture thinker and strategic leader. You will work globally and cross-functionally with Google developers and Product Managers to navigate challenging online safety situations and handle abuse and fraud cases at Google speed.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $132000 - $189000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced statistical methods to large complex data sets to analyze impact of abuse on the Video ads ecosystem.
  • Perform fraud and spam investigations using various data sources, identify product vulnerabilities and drive anti-abuse experiments to prevent abuse.
  • Work with engineers and stakeholders to improve workflows via process improvements, automation and anti-abuse system creation.
  • Conduct complex fraud investigations using data and identify gaps in current defenses, explore/experiment with new signals and develop solutions for scalable enforcement on non-compliant publisher inventory with a focus on Video ads.
  • Perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, including weekend coverage/holidays. This role works with sensitive content or situations and may be exposed to graphic, controversial, or upsetting topics or content.
