Job summary

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Engineering Aide for a contract opportunity in Grand Prairie, TX. The role focuses on hands-on fabrication and soldering of circuit cards and wiring harnesses, with opportunities to work closely with Engineers and the Fabrication team.

Qualified candidates will have the required 3 years of experience in fabrication environments, MIL STD solder/harness certification, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in fabrication environments such as cable and wire harness or SMT board fabrication.
• Prior certification in solder and harness capability to MIL STD requirements.
• Experience fabricating electrical equipment from blueprints, schematics and engineering guides.
• Experience communicating issues with design/engineering teams.
• Experience with software tools and Microsoft products.
• Self-starter able to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
• Solder certification to J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721.
• Experience with procurement and acquisition of test materials.
• Experience interpreting and building to Lockheed Martin Test Equipment engineering.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication includes placing and soldering components on circuit cards and sub-assemblies.
• Fabrication of wiring harnesses with connector pinning, de-pinning, and mounting hardware.
• Assemble lower-level units into single or multi-bay cabinets for delivery to Engineering or Manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Fabrication team, Draftsmen, Procurement, and Quality Inspectors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• 3 years of experience may be in other fabrication environments including cable and wire harness, SMT board fabrication, or maintenance of military design product.
• Must have Prior Certification in solder and harness capability to MIL STD requirements.
• Experience fabricating electrical equipment designed from a blueprint, schematic, and engineering guides.
• Experience communicating issues (both verbal and written) with the design and/or the process requirements to management and or engineers.
• Experience with utilizing software tools and Microsoft products
• Self-starter able to perform tasks with minimal supervision
• Solder certification to J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721
• Experience in procurement and acquisition of test materials
• Experience interpreting and building to Lockheed Martin Test Equipment engineering

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fabrication will include the ability to place and solder components on circuit cards and sub-assemblies. The fabrication of wiring harnesses will require connector pinning, de-pinning, and applying mounting hardware. In addition, these lower-level assemblies are to be built-up into single, or multi-bay cabinet assemblies, for the delivery to Engineering or Manufacturing Production areas. This position will provide the opportunity for the candidate to work as individual contributor, in a team environment. This would include collaborating with Engineers, and other members of the Fabrication team including other Fabricators, Draftsmen, Procurement, and Quality Inspectors.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Accredited High School/GED.
