Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. (ZNE) is currently seeking an Engineer VI, Civil/Structural for a direct hire position.

Position Synopsis: Successful candidate will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff. The candidate should have working knowledge of evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria. The individual will assist with performing calculations, modifications, and designs. The individual must possess technical knowledge of civil/structural discipline and ability to work on project teams with other engineers to assist in evaluating conditions and developing design changes which will improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.

Education

• BS in civil (structural) engineering from an accredited engineering program.

Experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of industry codes including ACI, AISC and ASCE 7 is required. Knowledge can be demonstrated through academic record or work experience.

Other Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Effective time management skills; ability to work on several projects concurrently.
• Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
• Overtime work may be required. Travel to client sites with periods of field/office work.
• Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, including climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas.
