Job summary

Exyte invites you to join a dynamic team as a Tool Install Engineer in Chandler, AZ. You will support installation design packages for advanced semiconductor facilities, coordinating across mechanical, process, electrical, and controls disciplines.

You will learn from Design Leads and contribute to project success. With exposure to cutting-edge manufacturing environments, you will build technical expertise, assist in submittal reviews, and help manage changes and scheduling impacts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 2+ years experience in semiconductor.
  • Equivalent education/experience may be considered.
  • Experience in consulting engineering, construction, or design environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Construction and/or Project Managers for submittals, RFIs, and doc distribution.
  • Review submittals and advise on potential cost/schedule impacts based on comments.
  • Support resolution of open submittal issues with the Construction/Project Manager.
  • Develop knowledge of contract documents and project schedule.
  • Identify changes and assist in negotiating change orders with client and subs.
  • Provide field engineering input to weekly/monthly reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Tool Install Engineer, you will play a key role in bringing complex manufacturing environments to life by supporting the development of tool installation design packages for some of the industry's most innovative clients.

Working alongside experienced Design Leads, engineers, and designers, you will help coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts across mechanical, process, electrical, and controls systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop technical expertise, gain exposure to leading-edge semiconductor projects, and build leadership skills.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Provides technical support to the Construction and/or Project Mangers to include receiving, logging, reviewing, tracking, expediting, and distribution of submittals, RFI’s, and other technical documentation.
  • Receives and technically reviews submittals returned from Architect or Engineer and notifies the Construction and/or Project Manager of potential cost and/or schedule impacts based on review comments. Supports
  • Construction and/or Project Manager in resolving open issues related to submittals.
  • Develops a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the contract documents (plans, specifications, schedule, etc.).
  • Identifies and notifies Construction Manager and/or Project Manager of changes. Works with Construction Manager and/or Project Manager to mitigate potential changes, define the cost and schedule impacts of a change and negotiate change orders with both the Client and Subcontractors.
  • Provides field engineering input to weekly and monthly reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field required
  • 2+ years experience in semiconductor

Preferred

  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Previous experience or internship exposure within advanced technology, semiconductor, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
  • Experience working within consulting engineering, construction, or design environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively within a collaborative team setting.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives or Lean methodologies.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Basic understanding of engineering and design processes within multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Familiarity with Lean project delivery principles and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Power BI is a plus.
