Job summary

Celestica Inc. in Fort Worth, TX seeks an Engineer, Test Manufacturing - IST to define and optimize test processes and equipment for manufacturing, focusing on productivity improvements to cycle time and yield across the line.

Typically 1–3 years’ experience with a Bachelor degree; duties include debugging, data analysis, SOP creation, and collaboration with Quality, Process and Equipment teams to improve test coverage and MES integration.

Qualifications

• System-Level Functional Validation: validate hardware, firmware and subsystems.
• Test Automation: Python scripting under Linux for node/server testing.
• Root-cause analysis for complex functional/electrical failures (RCA).
• Document SOPs, logs and test instructions to improve yield and cycle times.

Responsibilities

• Define, specify, qualify, install, support and optimize test processes and equipment for manufacturing.
• Lead test process optimization to improve cycle time and yield.

Details

• Under supervision and with minimal assistance define, specify, qualify, install, support and optimize test process and test equipment solutions for manufacturing.
• Lead test process optimization, with a focus on productivity improvements to cycle time and yield for a specific set of equipment within an Operations value stream
• Debug of test process and equipment solutions using design of experiments, tools, and failure analysis methodologies
• Collaborate with Quality, Process and Equipment engineers to detect and solve product and test yield and performance issues
• Develop improvement roadmaps for test coverage, diagnosability, reparability, test time reductions and OEE
• Analyze and interpret data and information from yield reports and equipment logs and product diagnostics to determine sources of yield loss
• Provide solution support to process engineers to improve detection of known defect types as part of a Process Control plan
• Support development of test equipment integration into Manufacturing Execution Systems including yield, tester log and product parametric information.

Preferred Experience

• System-Level Functional Validation: Execute comprehensive functional, environmental, and stress (burn-in) testing protocols on integrated chassis and server node configurations to validate hardware, firmware, and subsystem compatibility prior to final sign-off.
• Test Automation & Scripting: Deploy, troubleshoot, and modify automated test scripts and diagnostic sequences utilizing Python within Linux environments to validate node-level computing, storage, and high-speed peripheral interfaces.
• Subsystem Failure Diagnostics: Perform systematic root-cause analysis (RCA) on complex functional and electrical failures occurring at the L6 (board) through L10 (chassis) levels, isolating defects across power distribution components, cooling modules, and interconnects.
• Process Documentation & Optimization: Author and maintain detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs), test instructions, and diagnostic logs to capture assembly yield data and streamline testing cycle times on the production line.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.
