Job summary

AbbVie Inc. is seeking an Engineer in Information Research (IR) to design, build, and operate AI-enabled solutions on AWS that automate work and surface insights for CBSO.

You will partner with CBSO stakeholders to define AI use cases, implement infrastructure as code with Terraform or CloudFormation, and deploy with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

The role requires strong communication, documentation, and adherence to GxP and corporate standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years of experience; Master’s Degree with 2 years of experience.
• Proventrack recordof deliveringprojectson time, performingroutine and complex tasks competently and independently,andgeneratingreliable and consistent results.
• Strong communicationskills, with the ability to organize and present projectobjectivesand progress clearly to both technical teams and CBSO business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Job Description

This Engineer sits within Information Research (IR) and supports the CBSO organization. The role designs, builds, and operates AI-enabled solutions on AWS that automate work, surface insights, and help CBSO teams make faster, better-informed decisions.

Identify, engineer, and optimize new data, software, and technology solutions to address critical business needs in a timely manner. Demonstrate broad and versatile technical expertise in software development, datavisualization, and/or technology infrastructure (including servers, storage, network connectivity, and virtualization/cloud environments).

Responsibilities

• Independently design and develop data, software, or technology solutions, including generative AI and machine learning applications, to answer scientific or business questions for CBSO.
• Partner with CBSO stakeholders to turn business needs into prioritized AI use cases with clear requirements and success measures.
• Build, deploy, and operate solutions on AWS using infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation) and automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions), including testing, monitoring, cost awareness, and secure handling of data and credentials.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years of experience;Master’s Degree with 2 years of experience.
• Proventrack recordof deliveringprojectson time, performingroutine and complex tasks competently and independently,andgeneratingreliable and consistent results.
• Understand the broadobjectivesof the project as well astheirrole in achieving thoseobjectives andmodify approach whenrequired.
• Strong communicationskills, with the ability to organize and present projectobjectivesand progress clearly to both technical teams and CBSO business stakeholders.
• Implement new methods and technologies.
• Produceandmaintainrequired technical documentation associated with workproducts.
• Understand and adhere to corporate standardsregardingapplicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety,GxPcompliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.

Preferred:

• Experience with AWS services; experience with Agile delivery and tools such as Jira and GitHub; experience with data pipelines and APIs; and experience partnering with business stakeholders in a regulated (GxP) environment.

• The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Companybelieves ingood faith it will pay for this role at thetimeofthis posting based on the job grade for this position.Individualcompensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographiclocation,andwemayultimatelypaymore or less than the posted range. This range may bemodifiedin thefuture.
