Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking an Engineer Technician for an on-site contract role in Fremont, CA. The position focuses on electronic and mechanical assembly, testing, and system integration for semiconductor projects.

Requires an Associate's Degree in Hardware engineering and at least 4 years of experience; familiarity with electro-mechanical assembly, lab tools, blueprints, and data analysis is essential. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel if needed.

What you'll do:

• Conduct technical research and analysis to support engineering projects.
• Design, develop, and test systems, equipment, and components using specialized software and tools.
• Build and test prototypes of products or systems to evaluate performance and identify design problems.
• Collect and analyze data from experiments, tests, and fieldwork to identify trends and anomalies.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Provide technical support to engineers and other project team members, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Assist with the planning, scheduling, and coordination of project tasks and resources.
• Collaborate with other technical professionals, including engineers, scientists, and designers, to develop and implement solutions to technical challenges.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the engineering field.
• Role will focus on current project and system integration. Create and maintain build schedules aligned with project milestones. Track and manage materials and conduct regular progress meetings. Assemble modules, integrate systems, develop build process and resolve build-related issues.
• Additionally, will provide project support for upcoming demo tool by working with Engineering to identify delta and retrofit parts, develop and manage build schedules to meet project deadlines ad retrofit systems and resolve issues.

What you'll bring:

• Associate's Degree in an Engineering (Hardware) related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience working with semiconductor systems.
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly techniques.
• Experience using lab equipment such as multimeter, dial indicator, caliper, laser measurement tool.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Ability to set up test, propose test plan, collect and analyze data.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint presentations for creating slides and reports.
