Overview

Holder Construction is currently seeking entry level Engineer Technicians in Training to support our Field Supervision and project located in Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will be a team player who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced yet supported environment, with the ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field Engineers in operating electronic total station instruments, transit, auto level and other surveying instruments.
• Assist with setting and marking stakes for slopes, grades and other construction purposes.
• Set markers, lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions, and distances.
• Maintain total station, field book, survey equipment and tools.
• Provide primary support to field supervision and demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates will possess 6 months to 1 year of experience, be able to read drawings, and have training in construction safety protocols (e.g., OSHA 10, fall protection, mobile elevated platform such as boom and scissor).
• A high school diploma or GED is a plus, as well as strong time management skills.
• Agile/mobile, able to stand or walk for long periods, use fingers, hands and arms to reach and manipulate objects, climb ladders/scaffolds and other structures, work on uneven surfaces/heights, read/write, and have good vision and hearing with or without correction.
• Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs (75% of the time).
• Willing and able to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment, outdoors, and to work overtime and weekend hours. Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
