Job summary

The City and County of Denver is seeking an Engineer Supervisor in the Street Maintenance Division within DOTI. The role leads a multidisciplinary team delivering street maintenance programs, ensuring safety, equity, and timely project delivery.

You will oversee scope, schedule, budgets, procurement, and collaboration with consultants, utilities, and community partners while promoting data-driven decisions and staff development in a hybrid on-site role at the Wastewater Building in Denver.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and project inspectors responsible for the delivery of street maintenance programs and projects.
• Provide technical, operational, and strategic direction for Engineering Street Maintenance planning, procurement, contract management, delivery/construction, and project closeout.
• Supervise staff workload, performance, professional development, and resource allocation to achieve organizational goals and deliver high-quality projects.
• Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and compliance with City, state, and federal requirements.
• Provide quality assurance and technical oversight of procurement documents/packages, work orders, change orders, contract amendments, and consultant deliverables.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders including consultants, contractors, internal departments, utilities, regional agencies, and other project stakeholders.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and process improvements to improve project delivery and operational efficiency.
• Supervise the expenditure program budgets, funding allocations, and other resources to support the annual Engineering Street Maintenance Program.
• Analyze project and program data to establish performance measures, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Represent the Department on complex and high-profile projects with community stakeholders, elected officials, partner agencies, and the public.
• Collaborate on complex technical, operational, contractual, and stakeholder issues balancing safety, equity, mobility, cost, schedule, and community needs.
• Mentor and develop staff while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and continuous-improvement culture.
• Project Management responsibilities, as needed.
