Overview: As a Senior Engineer in the Fluid Controls group, you will develop innovative products and systems involving pneumatic controls, electro-pneumatic systems, air and water valves, pumps, vacuum systems, and other complex fluid-control applications. We are looking for an engineer with experience in one or more of the following areas: valve design, pneumatic controls, pump design, fluid-control systems, vacuum systems, or refrigeration/HVAC systems. Experience with machining processes, injection molding, and electro-mechanical controls is also highly desirable. In this role, you will own designs from early concept development through validation and production. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, suppliers, and other engineering teams to solve challenging technical problems and deliver reliable, high-quality products. You will also have opportunities to provide technical leadership, mentor other engineers, and help guide design decisions.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides for the accomplishment of team and corporate objectives through timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Provides for the value of engineering solutions for products through creative design and by applying modern design solutions, techniques, approaches, methods, and technology.
  • Ensures the value of engineering solutions by creating sketches, computer-aided design (CAD) models, mockups, and prototypes; facilitating the evaluation of products by management, technical groups, manufacturing, marketing, and the customer; and conducting design analysis and testing.
  • Ensures proper documentation and data files by creating and maintaining up-to-date project records.
  • Ensures efficient and effective design activity by directing the work of assigned drafters, designers, technicians and others; and by working with development and technical support groups on projects.
  • Contributes to the accomplishment of team objectives through effective communication and teamwork; and by providing technical assistance as needed.
  • Contributes to the value of product designs by studying competitive product and customer’s practices, and by identifying customer needs.
  • Contributes to the advancement of product designs and awareness of recent innovations by continuing education, reading, participating in engineering organization(s), and by developing and maintaining a professional network outside the company.
  • Contributes to an environment of self-sustaining, continuous improvement consistent with corporate objectives by participating in activities designed to improve manufacturing throughput times and eliminate waste in a manner that is measurable and provides value to the product and/or service that is delivered.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience. Typically possesses over 5 years of relevant professional engineering experience of increasing complexity, in the application of engineering theory and practice.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis.
  • Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively.
  • Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift.
  • Some areas may be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration and/or dust, and require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, etc.
