The City of Charlotte is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer specialized in wastewater systems to perform analyses, develop hydraulic models, and support master planning and CIP projects. This position will be responsible for performing engineering analyses on wastewater systems, developing and operating hydraulic models, master planning and basin studies, participating in utility-wide continuous improvement projects, identifying infrastructure needs for the Capital Investment Plan (CIP), and completing regulatory reporting. Work performed is of an advanced level and capacity. This position requires a high degree of internal/external consultation on internal and external projects and operates as a subject matter expert in wastewater systems’ operation, assessments, and modeling.
The salary for this position is $100,746 - $111,939 commensurate with experience.
The work is light work and requires applying 10 pounds of force frequently exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: feeling, perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels, discriminating among sounds, mental acuity, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity in data/color/observations/equipment/ inspections, and walking.
Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Requires occasional on-call emergency work.
