Job summary

PSW Group in Chicago, IL is seeking an Engineer to support design, project coordination, and execution for new and ongoing projects. This role alternates between PSW's Chicago office and project sites, including overseas, offering hands-on experience in both design and construction.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare and review deliverables, track schedules and budgets, and contribute to lessons learned and best practices across projects. Some travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Materials, or related).
  • 3-5 years of engineering or project experience (internships/co-ops acceptable).
  • Deep knowledge of engineering design tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc) and project coordination principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and review of engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Support project coordination by tracking schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Work with the project leadership team to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
  • Participate in on-site activities, including inspections, progress tracking, and contractor coordination.
  • Support the procurement activities such as reviewing technical submittals and vendor documentation.
  • Maintain project documentation, including reports, meeting notes, and change tracking.
  • Contribute to capturing lessons learned and standardizing best practices across projects.
  • Prepare status updates, progress reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders.

Job Summary

The Engineer will split time between PSW's Chicago office and project sites (including overseas), gaining hands-on experience in both design and construction environments.
