Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to deliver short- and medium-term planning for underground operations, ensuring safety, production and cost targets align with Agnew’s strategy. The role is offered on a FIFO roster from Perth (8 days on, 6 days off).

You will collaborate with the engineering team to review economic evaluations, plan infrastructure, and produce schedules that support LOM objectives. A Mining Engineering degree and underground gold experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to mining and ability to obtain WA FCMM Certificate (UG time completed).
• Strong underground mining experience, ideally in gold.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate short to medium term mine plans that support operational objectives and LO M timeframes.
• Review economic evaluations for each mine design to ensure financial objectives are met under determined cut-off grades.
• Ensure mine plans consider ventilation, infrastructure, DnB and paste fill needs.
• Prepare stope designs, declines, escapeways and level plan layouts, and mining instructions aligned with operational schedule.
• Create infrastructure plans and schedules aligned with mining interactions and budget constraints.
• Provide timely and accurate planning guidance for the delivery of the mining department production schedules.
• Collaborate across departments to support key projects.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to mining and ability to obtain WA FCMM Certificate (UG time completed).
• Strong underground engineering experience, ideally in gold.
• Proficiency in MS Office and mining software (Deswik CAD, Deswik Scheduler, Ventsim)
• Manual Driver’s license
