About the role:

A leading automotive manufacturer is hiring an execution-focused Engineer for modifications and construction activities within paint booths at its Blue Springs, MS facility (100% onsite). You will execute and manage paint booth modification projects — including structural and airflow improvements — working with sheet metal structures and large components inside the booth environment, from feasibility and bid packages through drawing review, change negotiation, and contractor supervision in green-field and brown-field environments.

Responsibilities
  • Execute and manage paint booth modification projects, including structural and airflow improvements
  • Work with sheet metal structures and large components inside the booth environment
  • Investigate project feasibility, scope, schedule, and budget; create scope of work, bid package, and specifications
  • Review technical drawings, provide feedback, and negotiate changes
  • Evaluate safety compliance to local/national codes; collaborate with 3rd-party Safety Compliance Contractors
  • Supervise contractors in green-field/brown-field environments and develop countermeasures for project delays
Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or relevant discipline), technical trade certification, or equivalent
  • Hands-on engineering background combined with trade experience (practical, execution-focused)
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of project management, preferably managing projects valued at $500K or more
  • Commercial construction experience; 2+ years of technical drawing review; AutoCAD proficiency (review/modify)
  • Bid spec development and contractor negotiation; Microsoft Office proficient
