Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Structural Engineer or Principal Structural Engineer to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be in Palmdale, CA and is assigned to 1st shift on a 3/10 day/hour schedule (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Candidate must be willing to work extended shifts, weekends and holidays as required to meet program schedule and objectives. We are looking for self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented people to help us grow our services and become even better at what we do.

Key responsibilities include:

• Act as structural analysis engineer authority for non-conformances supporting the STRIKE program
• Structural analyst to support disposition and buy off non-conformance (MRB) tags and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) as they arise in the production and flight test environment.
• Coordinate with a team of multiple disciplines engineers to determine effective solutions to defects that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives
• Knowledge on composite structures, & metallic structures and basic knowledge of subsystems installations
• Maintain integrity of the Material Review Board (MRB) process and engineering authority

Some of the tools you'll be using are FEMAP, NX, VisPro, MES, and TeamCenter.

Position may be filled as either an Engineer (Level 2) OR Principal Engineer (Level 3) depending on the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications:

• Basic qualifications for a Engineer (Level 2) include a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 2 years of relevant experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with no years of experience.
• Basic qualifications for a Principal Engineer (Level 3) include a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD Degree with no experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous MRB/LE Authority for Engineering
• Experience with TeamCenter, CAD program, and knowledge in structural analysis tools
• Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment
• Experience with 3-D model engineering definition
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership, and problem-solving abilities

Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
