Job summary

American Ordnance is seeking an Operations Engineer II to drive improvements on the shop floor, optimize processes, and enhance safety. You will develop operator procedures, troubleshoot equipment, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver measurable impact.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of engineering experience, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and strong mechanical aptitude. A valid REAL ID or passport is required; background screening is mandatory.

As The Operations Engineer II here's the work you'll do:

• Prepare and update operator procedures for shop floor.
• Address daily production related issues on shop floor.
• Research and design systems related to continuous improvement.
• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
• Coordinate with external customers on shop floor related issues.
• Develop and maintain process layouts for existing or new processes and equipment.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to: compute rate, ratio and percent, draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple duties simultaneously. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, AutoCAD or other 3D Drawing/Modeling software. Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to prepare well written procedures and technical reports.

And If You Have These Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field; Required
• 2+ years Engineering experience Required
• Must possess a valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, which includes the gold or black star in the upper corner OR current passport, indicating it is federally compliant.
• A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with team members is essential for contributing to a cohesive work environment.
• Successful completion of a background screening process is mandated for all candidates.

Candidates may be required to satisfy additional job-related requirements, including those established and controlled by third parties, as part of the selection process.

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $76, 080- $114,120.

This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
