Sonesta Hotels International Corporation seeks a skilled Maintenance Engineer to uphold hotel facilities, safety, and comfort. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and complex troubleshooting across building systems, with emphasis on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety compliance.

You will read blueprints, document maintenance activities, and ensure work meets code requirements, contributing to a reliable, high-quality guest experience across our properties.

Qualifications

• General maintenance experience in a hotel or similar facility.
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related building systems.

Responsibilities

What this role is all about

The Engineer performs general maintenance work to ensure hotel physical plant quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained. The Engineer takes care of the building, equipment and grounds of the hotel. This position will perform maintenance and repairs, and preventative maintenance, to all areas of the hotel.

What you'll be doing

• Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (i.e., boilers, chillers, HVAC-Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.).
• Take required readings on equipment.
• Test cooling tower and record readings.
• Replace and program televisions as needed.
• Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
• Perform furniture repair.
• Replace and repair pumps.
• Perform plumbing repairs (i.e., clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc.).
• Understand and be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Trace and repair all types of water lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
• Perform and maintain work to local, state, and Federal codes.
• Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
• Paint designated areas.
• Repair and finish sheetrock.
• Repair all types of wall coverings.
• Repair and program hotel electronic lock system.

Anticipated Pay Range & Additional Job Information

Pay ranges from $28.80 to $32. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills, and job specific experience/overall experience.
