Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Nuclear Equipment & Process Engineer to support the preparation, installation, and maintenance of complex systems for fuel handling and examinations. This role contributes to critical national work within the Navy's spent nuclear fuel program and the Engineering Department's ongoing efforts.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related technical field, with strong GPA and proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical writing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical, engineering or science field, or Master's degree in a related field.
  • GPA 3.2 or higher in undergraduate and/or graduate coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, install and maintain complex systems for fuel handling and examinations.
  • Support processes and equipment handling for naval spent nuclear fuel.
  • Contribute to critical national work and professional growth.

Join the team responsible for managing and advancing the processes and equipment handling the Navy's spent nuclear fuel. As a Nuclear Equipment & Process Engineer, you’ll support critical work in preparing, installing, and maintaining complex systems for fuel handling and examinations. This role is your opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to critical national work.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is the prime government contractor tasked with supporting all aspects of the nation’s Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. The Naval Reactors Facility is one of many locations that supports that mission. The Engineering Department develops and maintains equipment, processes, and procedures for managing and processing spent naval nuclear fuel.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field.

Preferred Skills
  • Degree(s) in electrical, mechanical, or nuclear engineering
  • 3.2 GPA or higher in undergraduate and/or graduate degree coursework.

Pay Range

$63,900.00 - $97,800.00 annually
