Job summary

Talen Energy seeks an engineering professional to join a collaborative team tackling defined projects and smaller engineering efforts. You will work under supervision, applying established procedures to develop valid, cost-effective designs and recommendations.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited engineering degree, with internship experience and an Engineer in Training certificate preferred. This role emphasizes learning, teamwork, and practical problem-solving in a dynamic energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited college or university.
• Internship/Co-op in energy industry preferred.
• Engineer in Training certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the work on smaller engineering projects or well-defined areas of larger projects.
• Using existing procedures to investigate, evaluate and assist in producing technically correct and cost-effective designs or recommendations that solve ongoing problems.
• Building relationships that will facilitate knowledge transfer, cross functional knowledge of related work groups, and ability to present work products effectively.
• Working under supervision in the field in a variety of functions in challenging but structured work that develops competencies in the discipline.
• Gathering and correlating basic engineering data using well defined engineering procedures which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems, and engineering studies.
• Continually expanding and improving technical and business skill set with your own initiative with instruction, guidance, and direction from others.
• Assisting in a variety of topics including developing innovative procedures, improved design recommendations.
