Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking an engineer to research, plan, design and develop mechanical systems including instruments, controls and engines for energy production and transmission. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and U.S.

citizenship for eligibility. This full-time position operates on the 1st shift with relocation assistance available and travel up to 25% may be required.

The Role

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
