Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or computer science.
  • 2–4 years of experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in an empowered work team environment.
  • Ability to write simple code modifications for industrial control systems with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
  • Proficient with FactoryTalk, Wonderware, AB Studio 5000, Power BI, and Ignition.
  • Knowledgeable in Ladder Logic, Python, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram.
  • Experience with motion devices, servos and robotic arms.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations with industrial controls and software.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
  • Experience working with vendors to source components.
  • Experience in ISO and FDA regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to operations by participating in troubleshooting activities for PLC, Vision Systems, Robots, Servers, and HMIs.
  • Lead or participate in small code or program modifications for assigned control systems.
  • Plans and executes moderately complex change control projects requiring conceptual evaluation, design and validation.
  • Plans and executes moderately complex qualifications of new equipment/controls and assists in vendor and site acceptance testing to meet engineering standards.
  • Identifies and implements standard methodologies of project management.
  • Participate in technical design reviews for machine requirements and manufacturing/product specifications.
  • Provides training and support to Operations Engineers and Technicians to operate, troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
  • Identification and resolution of Corrective/Preventative actions to address Quality, Technical, and Manufacturing issues (Audit Actions, NCRs, CAPAs, etc).
  • Utilizes cross functional collaboration with safety, quality, and operations to meet business objectives.
  • Serves as a change agent by creating a learning culture and experimental mindset within the department and organization to improve business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeable in industrial programming languages, including Ladder Logic, Python, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram.
  • Experience in programming and configuring motion devices, including servos and robotic arms.
  • Proficient in creating and configuring inspection jobs for machine vision systems used in industrial settings.
  • Background in supporting manufacturing operations with a focus on industrial controls and software.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics effectively.
  • Experience working with vendors to select, source, quote, and procure off the shelf and custom designed components.
  • Experience working in an ISO and FDA regulated environment.
