Job summary

Daikin Comfort in Texas is seeking a Test Engineer to analyze test setups, methods and results, and to troubleshoot to reduce downtime in the lab. You will develop and maintain data-analysis tools on the Engineering Lab Portal and help maintain ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 compliance.

Responsibilities include creating test protocols and lab work instructions, ensuring data accuracy with a goal of zero defects, and performing requirements analysis, data prep, test design and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• Knowledge of Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics and Mass Transfer.
• Experience with ISO 17025 or equivalent lab environment preferred.

• Direct lab resources to increase lab efficiency and maintain standards.

Job description

The Test Engineer is responsible for the analysis of test setups, test methods and results. This includes implementing process improvements and hands-on problem-solving in the lab environment, troubleshooting to reduce downtime and increase efficiency. Develops and maintains tools on the Engineering Lab Portal (ELP) webpage, for easy data analysis and validity. Facilitates lab’s efforts to maintain ISO 17025, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001, AHRI, ASHRAE, UL standards. The Test Engineer is compliance and results oriented, has strong work ethics and integrity.

Position Responsibilities may include;

• Develop Test protocols and Lab work instructions for our Products using relevant Test standards
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of Test data with a goal of zero defective results
• Hands on involvement in requirements analysis, test data preparation, test case design and test execution.
• Maintain flexibility and cooperation in assisting interested parties in completion of all miscellaneous technical tasks (Equipment Calibrations, Testing documentation, Lab Maintenance etc.)
• Assist lab resources to conceptualize and analyze the Test set-ups, methods and conditions of Products based on the specific needs of customer
• Identify root causes of testing issues and develop solutions to eliminate reoccurrence.
• Direct the activities of lab resources as needed to increase efficiency of Lab
• Facilitate Engineering Lab’s effort to maintain ISO 17025, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 Standards

Nature And Scope

• Takes direction from Lab Manager
• Assist Lab Supervisors and Lab technicians to execute cost effective and high-quality testing

Knowledge And Skills

• Must be knowledgeable in the fields of Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, and Mass Transfer
• Knowledge of Manufacturing processes, fabrication techniques, Bill ofMaterials preferred
• Familiarity in developing and executing processes in a lab environment preferred
• Strong Engineering analysis and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required
• Effective organizational and time management skills

Experience

• 0-2 years in related field
• Prior experience in ISO 17025 or equivalent accredited lab environment preferred
• Knowledge of HVAC safety and governing standards preferred

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
• Thesis or publications in the fields of Thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics etc. preferred
• EPA 608 certification preferred
