Job summary

Ames Construction, Inc. invites motivated students to join as an Intern supporting various project sites with project management, document control, and collaboration with safety personnel and field operations.

Interns gain hands-on experience and mentorship while building professional contacts in the industry. Location is Farmington, NM, with travel to project locations and regional offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• Current college junior or senior status.
• Experience working on civil or other construction site(s) desired.
• Computer literate in Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational, written, verbal and time management skills.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Have a positive attitude and excellent self-motivational skills.
• Ability to perform under schedule restraints.
• Good time management skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support highway heavy/civil construction site, project management or estimating.
• Assist with document control, submittals, monthly billing.
• Assist with field operations, safety or environment requirements.

Working Conditions

• Location - This project is located in Farmington, New Mexico. Subsequent projects will be nationally based.
• Travel - This role will be expected to travel to project locations and regional offices.
• Construction site environment - physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach, and climb. Exposed to high noise levels.
