Job summary

Stfrancis is seeking a Civil Engineering student with a geotechnical focus to perform engineering assignments under supervision. You will develop design calculations for helicals, drilled shafts, micropiles, rock and soil anchors, and driven piles, and prepare preliminary foundation designs for bidding.

The role emphasizes professional judgment, strong communication, and teamwork in a supportive, field-oriented environment in Spokane Valley, WA.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical, civil, and structural focus.
• EIT Eligible preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized and able to work effectively within a team environment.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Perform assignments applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out tasks, developing judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
• Exercise judgment in developing work details and making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Perform and prepare design calculations and analysis for specialty foundation types including Helical Piles, Drilled Shafts, Micropiles, Rock and Soil Anchors, and Driven Piles.
• Prepare preliminary foundation designs for project bidding.
• Work under supervision of senior-level team members.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in progress in Civil Engineering with geotechnical, civil, and structural focus.
• EIT Eligible preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized and able to work effectively within a team environment.
• Preference for experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, LPILE, GROUP, SAP2000, RISA 3D, Enercalc, and MathCAD.
• Preference for knowledge of design standards including ASCE, IBC, ACI, AISC, FHWA, AASHTO, NESC, and ASTM.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate of $19.00.
