Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a Cost Estimating & Pricing professional to analyze and design efficient production sequences and workflows in a large shipbuilding environment.

The role focuses on cost control, inventory management, and implementing plans to improve production methods. A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Systems Engineering is required, with manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts.

• Conducts studies on cost control, cost reduction, inventory control and production record systems.
• Develops and implements plans for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
• Assists facilities engineers in planning and design of facilities.

The Role

Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods. May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.

Must Have

• Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial/Manufacturing/Systems Engineering, or similar engineering discipline and 0 years of experience.

Nice to Have

• Previous Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Production Planning or Trades and Construction management experience is preferred.
