Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced OT/IT engineer to support Grant PUD's bulk electric system by maintaining EMS, SCADA, and related data systems. You will work with operations, vendors, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure, available, and compliant control systems in a 24x7 environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, Technology, MIS, or related field.
  • Engineer III: 3+ years supporting business-critical apps in a 24x7 environment.
  • Engineer IV: 6+ years supporting business-critical apps in a 24x7 environment.
  • Engineer V: 10+ years supporting business-critical apps in a 24x7 environment.
  • Experience with complex software, OT, or enterprise applications.
  • Experience with networking, databases, data communications, or integrations.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create technical documentation for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain NERC CIP access requirements.
  • Knowledge of power system operations and electric utility infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of NERC standards, CIP requirements.
  • Programming experience in VB.NET, Java, JavaScript, C++, HTML, CSS.
  • Experience with servers, virtualization, networking, firewalls, databases, storage, and communications.
  • Wireshark or network troubleshooting experience.
  • Supervisory or mentoring experience.
  • Professional Engineer license or EIT certification.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain operational technology systems powering the electric grid (EMS, SCADA, EAS, Data Historian, AGC, ICCP).
  • Collaborate with operations, regional utilities, vendors, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure, available, compliant control systems.
  • Develop technical documentation and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support real-time utility control systems and ensure BES reliability.

Job Description

Support and maintain the operational technology systems that power Grant PUD's electric grid, including Energy Management Systems (EMS), SCADA, Energy Accounting Systems (EAS), Data Historians, Automatic Generation Control (AGC), ICCP, and related utility infrastructure. This engineer will work closely with operations teams, regional utilities, vendors, cybersecurity teams, and infrastructure teams to ensure mission‑critical control systems remain secure, available, compliant, and accurate. The role combines utility operations, software systems, networking, databases, communications, cybersecurity, and control systems engineering to support Grant PUD's Bulk Electric System (BES).

  • Knowledge of software development concepts, application architecture, and system integration principles - Utility industry experience

  • Experience supporting EMS, SCADA, - Data Historian, ICCP, AGC, or Energy Accounting Systems

  • Experience supporting real-time utility control systems

  • Knowledge of power system operations and electric utility infrastructure

  • Knowledge of NERC standards, regulations, and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) requirements

  • Programming experience with VB.NET, Java, JavaScript, C++, HTML, CSS, or related languages

  • Experience supporting custom software applications and system integrations

  • Experience with servers, virtualization, networking, firewalls, databases, storage, and communication systems

  • Wireshark or network troubleshooting experience

  • Supervisory, technical leadership, or mentoring experience

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or - Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
