We strive to recruit the best talent in the industry and give employees opportunities for continuing education and training to help them advance in their careers.This is a role within Systems' Operations and Supply Chain group, supporting a metal-fabrication-intensive manufacturing operation encompassing welding, metal cutting and forming, painting/coating, and industrial control panel assembly. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) lead the development, documentation, and implementation of a Quality Management System aligned to ISO 9001:2015, establishing the procedures, process controls, and audit mechanisms required for certification readiness, and (ii) plan and implement corrective and preventive action programs to minimize losses and improve yields, determining improvement goals based on historical performance of KPIs.Job Responsibilities:* Develop, document, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System, quality manual, procedures, work instructions, and records, aligned to ISO 9001:2015, supporting progression toward certification readiness* Plan and implement corrective and preventive action programs (8D/CAPA) to minimize losses and improve yields; determine improvement goals based on historical performance of KPIs* Develop and execute an internal audit program (ISO 9001:2015 clause 9.2) to monitor conformance to Quality Procedures and Inspection/Test Instructions; prepare management review inputs (clause 9.3)* Apply statistical methodologies for continuous improvement of processes (Gage R&R, hypothesis testing, control charts, process capability)* Establish and maintain process controls and inspection criteria for fabrication processes: weld quality (visual acceptance criteria, WPS and welder qualification records), metal cutting and forming (first-piece and in-process inspection), and paint/coating (surface preparation, film thickness, adhesion)* Develop workmanship and inspection standards for control panel assembly, including wiring verification, torque checks, and functional/electrical testing, with awareness of UL 508A and IPC-A-620 requirements* Drive Sustaining Engineering regular reviews and/or early-involvement reviews with cross-functional teams to continuously improve product quality on identified processes, methods and design issues which impact negatively on quality, costs and yields.* Conduct studies and audits of manufacturing processes and products; develop and implement process controls for critical fabrication and assembly operations* Lead manufacturing quality planning on new product introduction; collaborate on component quality planning with internal operations; oversee implementation of APQP practices within New Product Development teams; ensure execution of APQP methods and assigned deliverables, Product Assurance Planning, CTQs, and Control Plans; participate with other teams on the generation of FMEA* Utilize techniques, systems and methods that promote prevention as the primary solution to quality/reliability issues* Drive internal PPAPs / product qualification for fabricated components and/or sub-assemblies, to ensure proper qualification process* Work with New Product Development CORE teams to identify CTQ attributes and then develop PFMEAs and Product Control Plans for proper planning to achieve within the product and process design.* Serve as escalation point for addressing all component-related throughput, quality issues and/or technical term discussions encountered by manufacturing to facilitate cross-functional resolution* Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.* Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.* Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.Job Requirements:* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Manufacturing, Materials, Welding, or Mechatronics), or other related bachelor's degree in an engineering, engineering technology, or applied science discipline; an equivalent combination of technical education and quality engineering experience may be considered* 5+ years of experience in manufacturing processes or Quality Engineering* Experience with products/processes transfers* Experience in Quality Control techniques and applied statisticsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and QMS documentation structure* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T* Strong analytical, organizational, statistical, and structured problem-solving skills* Project management* Working knowledge of new product introduction (APQP)* Working knowledge in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly)* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related applicationsPreferred Job Requirements:* Certification as a Quality Engineer (ASQ CQE)* QMS Internal Auditor certification; ISO 9001 Lead Auditor a plus* Green Belt certification* AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / Certified Welding Educator, or equivalent weld inspection training* Experience with product safety standards* Experience in metal fabrication operations (welding, cutting, forming, painting/powder coating) and/or industrial control panel assembly* Experience developing or implementing a QMS through ISO 9001 certificationKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Basic knowledge of Infor SyteLine ERP* Basic knowledge of Windchill* Familiarity with welding standards (AWS D1.1/D1.3), coating specifications (SSPC), and UL 508A / IPC-A-620 workmanship standardsThe pay range for this position is $72,300.00 - $116,775.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
