Job summary

HHM Hotels in Bethesda, MD is seeking an Engineer III to perform preventive and corrective maintenance across guest rooms and public areas on site. You will diagnose issues, coordinate repairs, and ensure work complies with safety and sustainability standards.

This role offers growth toward leadership with a focus on guest satisfaction and efficient operation. Duties include electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment maintenance, along with maintaining records and following service recovery

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hotel engineer/maintenance experience or equivalent training.
• 1–2 years of industrial mechanical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
• Install or repair sheetrock and other wall coverings.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen and industrial laundry equipment.
• Paint designated areas and items.
• Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, switches, receptacles, bulbs and fixtures.
• Repair furniture.
• Install, replace and program televisions.
• Perform minor plumbing functions.
• Replace and repair heating and cooling pumps and perform preventive maintenance.
• Trace and repair all types of water lines.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
• Perform work to local, state and Federal codes.
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
• Follow Service Recovery Guidelines.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Background and Skills

• High School diploma and Trade school course work in related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of previous hotel engineer/maintenance experience or equivalent training required.
• 1-2 years of industrial mechanical experience is preferred.

Work Context

• Work schedule varies and mayinclude working on holidays and weekends and alternate shifts.
• Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching,kneeling, stooping, crawling and climbing.
