Job summary

RK&K is hiring Transportation Engineers in Tampa or Lakeland, Florida, to support our growth in roadway design. Successful candidates will handle design tasks including horizontal and vertical alignments, cost estimates, and documentation support.

Ideal applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. The role offers career advancement, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and a matching 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum Two (2) years of experience in roadway design.
• Engineering Intern (E.I.) license in Florida or ability to obtain within six (6) months.
• Four (4) plus years of experience in roadway design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of horizontal and vertical alignments.
• Prepare plan, profile, cross section, and detail sheets.
• Design temporary traffic control plans.
• Calculate quantities and prepare construction cost estimates.
• Support preparation of design documentation.
• Support preparation of specifications packages.

• Calculate quantities and prepare construction cost estimates
• Support preparation of design documentation
• Support preparation of specifications packages
• Work with other disciplines on creative solutions to design challenges

Required Skills And Experience

• Minimum Two (2) years of experience in roadway design
• Working knowledge of basic roadway design principals
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
• Engineering Intern (E.I.) license in Florida or ability to obtain within six (6) months
• Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) design experience
• Open Roads Designer (ORD)/FDOT Connect experience

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Four (4) plus years of experience in roadway design
