Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced design engineer to join the Collins Aerospace Product Design Definition team in Rockford, IL. You will design and develop innovative products for commercial and military aircraft, applying GD&T to ensure manufacturability and document designs with NX and Teamcenter PLM.

You will collaborate with multinational engineering teams, perform tolerance analyses, check drawings for standards compliance, and drive continuous improvement while meeting program deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Prior experience with design/modeling.
  • Experience with GD&T.

Responsibilities

  • Perform build up and tolerance analyses for assemblies.
  • Check drawings for accuracy and compliance to company / industry standards.
  • Create solid model piece parts and housings in NX.
  • Create assemblies and layouts in NX.
  • Create dimensioned detail component drawings.
  • Investigate and improve, with engineering, current product design issues.
  • Execute Collins Standard Work using Design Standard Features and Design Guidebook as appropriate to complete the task.
  • Investigate and resolve current product design issues.

In this role in our Product Design Definition team, you will work with Collins engineering staff to design and develop innovative products to be used in the latest commercial and military aircraft. You will also employ your expert knowledge of GD&T to analyze the fit and manufacturability of our designs and ensure the drawings created by our drafters accurately document the design.

What You Will Do:

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
