Job summary

Job description

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer II plays a key role in developing as well as proposing improvements to engineering designs. This role will need to problem solve for manufacturing issues, such as production methods and procedures, using strong analytical skills. By following the Dassault Falcon Jet Design Engineering definition, the individual in this role will work to develop and design an industrialized solution in order to maximize production efficiency. As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will also be responsible for mentoring less experienced engineers.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities (essential Functions)
  • Create accurate technical level instructions that fully conform to design requirements and support effective corrective actions.
  • Optimize order of operations and assembly sequence to maximize build efficiency and to reduce the probability of technician error.
  • Develop and maintain routings and Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) for multiple complex, system-level aircraft assemblies / installations to ensure all parts defined by Engineering are included in an efficient manufacturing execution system plan.
  • Work with internal customers and management to develop standards for design and production.
  • Interact with engineering, subject matter experts, and shop floor personnel to ensure that technical level instructions are accurate and comprehensible.
  • Perform technical studies and conduct analysis of operations (existing and proposed).
  • Provide mentorship to more junior collaborators, including ensuring deliverable quality standards are met.
  • Responsible for outlining and developing processes and methodologies.
  • Contribute to significant special projects inside of the department’s deliverables.
Non-principal Duties/Responsibilities (non-essential Functions)
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering or related field. Completed, relevant education from an accredited college or university may be substituted for years of relevant work experience. 1 year of education = 2 years of experience.
  • 4+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment as a process planner, industrial engineer, production engineer or design engineer.
  • Broad verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in creating value stream mapping or process design.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Be able to climb into various areas of an aircraft with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Experience in converting engineering instructions and information into content intended for a variety of audiences and ability levels.
  • Experience in product or process error root cause analysis, including issue identification and finding presentation to management.
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Aircraft experience (hands on or support function).
  • Manufacturing Engineering/Planning experience.
  • Manufacturing Execution System experience.
  • Strong understanding of Dassault Falcon Jet Manufacturing Engineering processes.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Interpersonal and project leadership skills.
  • Ability to outline and develop processes and methodologies.
Working Conditions
  • Work at computer terminal/screen for long periods of time.
  • Must function throughout total facility, including up and down stairs and in and out of aircraft.
  • On occasion be around loud noises (greater than 120 dB—rivets being installed, jet engines, etc.).
Compensation And Benefits

The compensation for this position typically falls between $70,738.00 and $94,502.50 per year. This position is not eligible for overtime under FLSA guidelines. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
