Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. seeks a Continuous Improvement Engineer II to analyze and improve business processes across turbine and generator service operations.

You will implement systems to capture and report key operational data, while applying Six Sigma and ADKAR methodologies to drive improvements. The role requires coordinating workshops, leading improvement events, and collaborating with multiple teams to enhance information systems like SAP, CRM, WindChill and S&OP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or related field.
  • Master Degree in related area or Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt preferred.

Continuous Improvement Engineer II

Role Overview

Provides analysis, oversight and implementation of all business process metrics and data record keeping which is critical to the proper and efficient support of Turbine and generator units serviced by MHPSA. Provide support for MHPSA OEM Service Operations analysis. Functions include developing and maintaining a system and process to capture, store, and report key operational data for MHPSA OEM Service Operations. Implement process improvements through Six Sigma, statistics and continuous improvement methodologies.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Coordinates workshops, brainstorming sessions and training.

  • Lead continuous improvement events.

  • Implement Lean, Six Sigma and ADKAR strategies.

  • Evaluate business requirements.

  • Document and train business processes.

  • Lead cross-functional coordination.

  • Improve information systems including SAP, CRM, WindChill and S&OP.

  • Monitor business results and quality metrics.

  • Recommend improvements using Root Cause Analysis and Five Whys.

  • Lead projects as facilitator and project manager.

  • Develop operational metrics.

  • Analyze business data, trends and risks.

  • Support operational reviews.

  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or related field, and at least Three (3) year related experience and/or training. Master Degree in related area or Six Sigma / Lena Six sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification is preferable and can be considered as substitution for experience.



  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial statements, technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.



  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.



  • Computer Skills: medium to advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, data manipulation, analysis software. Knowledge on SAP, CRM, Wind Chill, MS SharePoint or any other similar platforms are desirable.


Physical Demands & Work Environment

Regularly required to sit, talk and hear. Occasionally stand, walk and lift up to 10 pounds. Work environment is usually quiet.
