Job summary

Motion Industries in Salisbury, NC is looking for an Engineer II to perform engineering calculations, investigations, and support project progress with cross-functional teams. Under limited supervision you will design, develop and analyze components, prepare reports and communicate results.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering plus 2–5 years’ experience is typical; CAD proficiency and strong math skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering with 2–5 years of related experience.
Experience using CAD and Microsoft Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong mechanical and math skills for design solutions.
Field experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering calculations and investigations as assigned.
Manage project requirements, timelines, and customer coordination.
Collaborate with teammates to provide follow-up and engineering assistance.
Prepare reports, graphs, and planning layouts to communicate progress.
Design, develop, and analyze components and systems to meet specs.
Utilize CAD and 2D/3D drawings for problem definition and project completion.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to technical writing and explain how components integrate into machinery.
Support optimization of production methods and scheduling.
Perform other duties as assigned.
