Job summary

United Grid Solutions in Greenwood Village, CO, seeks an entry-level engineer to contribute under close supervision. You will develop engineering skills, perform technical analyses, and prepare accurate reports while aligning with company standards.

The role emphasizes basic electrical understanding, documentation discipline, and clear communication within a cross-functional team. A ABET-accredited degree or NCEES-recognized equivalent is required; on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an EAC/ABET accredited Engineering Program OR approved evaluation of non-ABET credentials by NCEES OR graduation from a Master’s/Doctoral Program in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering/technical expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve problems under close supervision.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities.
• Prepare thorough technical reports, calculations, and sketches.
• Pursue continuous improvement of engineering knowledge and performance.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication.

Job description

Position Overview:

This is the first level of the Engineering classification. Provide engineering/technical expertise to solve problems in a specific area of expertise, with close supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop skills in their field of study, and the ability to work with greater independence.

Duties & Responsibilities

Under close supervision, in the area of expertise will provide

• engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems
• effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
• thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
• continuous improvement of job-related, engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance
• effective oral and written communication skills
• accurate records and files
• support of the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an EAC/ABET accredited Engineering Program OR an approved evaluation of non-ABET credentials by NCEES OR graduation from a Master’s or Doctoral Program in Engineering from an institution with EAC/ABET accredited Undergraduate Engineering Programs.
• Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.
• Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations.
• Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of basic electricity and power quality.
• Knowledge of Distribution construction standards and methods.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

The compensation range for this position is between $70,000.00 and $85,000.00.
