Job summary

Entergy Arkansas, LLC is seeking an Engineer I–Sr to join the team in Little Rock. You will guide engineers, manage major projects, review designs, and support storm restoration efforts while ensuring safety and compliance with national codes.

The role requires a related engineering degree, PE consideration for advanced levels, and a valid driver's license. Travel up to 25% is possible.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a four-year accredited institution; PE may be considered for Technology degrees.
  • Preferred: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree.
  • Must have valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance to Engineer Associates and Assistants and local area line groups.
  • Manage large projects including highway relocations, government projects, and reliability improvements.
  • Review electrical designs for customer needs and reliability, complying with standards.
  • Attend meetings with customers, architects, developers, contractors, and government entities to communicate standards.
  • Perform engineering calculations for planning and corrective measures.
  • Assist with storm restoration efforts locally and out of town.

Job Summary:

Responsible for meeting with customers to determine electric needs and requirements. Performs a wide variety of planning, maintenance, and design engineering activities related to routine, non-routine, and emergency restoration duties. Project areas may include grid/system design, operations and maintenance, planning, asset management, reliability, computer applications, safety, and root cause failure analysis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance to the Engineer Associates and Assistants and local area line groups
  • Provide project management for all large projects including highway relocations, governmental projects, planned improvement and reliability projects
  • Review and recommend for approval electrical designs that meet customer needs, comply with company standards and enhance the overall system performance and reliability
  • Participate in meetings with external customers, architects, developers, contractors and government entities to communicate standards and guidelines
  • Perform engineering calculations to aid in planning and corrective measure projects
  • Assist with storm restoration efforts both local and out of town

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil preferred) from four year accredited institution. Degrees in engineering technology (typically, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Industrial) from a four year accredited institution with PE may be considered.

Prefferred: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree

Engineer I -0 to 2 years experience in an engineering discipline

Engineer II -2+ years experience in an engineering discipline

Engineer III -4+ years experience in an engineering discipline.

Engineer Sr -6+ years experience in an engineering discipline.

Technical mastery of engineering principles. In-depth knowledge of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area. Consistently drives for value in sound engineering decisions. Mentors other engineers and technical professionals. Good leadership skills. Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication skills. Excellent math skills. Excellent project management skills. Good knowledge of Personal Computer operations and related software. Familiar with National Electrical Safety Codes and National Electrical Code. Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities. Ability to work well under pressure. Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures. Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards. Ability to meet the public in a pleasant and tactful manner and understand the importance of delivering a high level of customer service. Demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base. Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement and have the ability to enact change.
