Job summary

Rosendin Electric, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Engineer I in Anaheim, CA to learn and develop competency under supervision. You will provide technical design, submittal reviews, and coordination across multiple trades to ensure compliance with engineering standards.

The role emphasizes developing power diagrams for PV, DG, BESS, and MV systems, with opportunities to work with AutoCAD MEP and other analytic tools. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; pursuing EIT is acceptable.
• Ability to learn engineering analytic programs and CAD/tools such as SKM, E-Tap, PVsyst.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and work on-site in Anaheim, CA.

Responsibilities

We'd love to have you as a shareholder! ## **YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:**The Engineer I is an entry-level engineering position and is expected to learn and develop competency in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Part of the responsibility will be to provide technical engineering design, consultation, information, and assistance to internal and external customers under the direct supervision of the Engineering Team Lead or Manager to ensure that the project complies with all engineering standards.## **WHAT YOU’LL DO:*** Oversee or collaborate with Designers assigned to your work or team.* Review, comment, and process equipment and system submittals.* Perform coordination between civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, operations, and field team, and all electrical trades.* Prepare designs, check, and specify power, lighting, and auxiliary systems for photovoltaic (PV), distributive generation (DG), battery energy storage systems (BESS), or medium voltage (MV) systems.* Develop power single-line diagrams. Develop and model short circuits and overcurrent protection device coordination studies.* Assist with the development of feeder schedules, determine cable losses, and model energy production under the supervision of a senior engineer.* Coordinate your work with the project specifications or equipment manufacturers.* Visit job sites to field survey existing electrical conditions under supervision.* Become familiar with engineering analysis programs to analyze loads, lighting levels, and short circuit currents under the supervision of a senior engineer.* Participate in project team meetings. May interface with various team members, architects, subcontractors, and engineers from other trades.* Work closely with the engineering supervisor to understand design criteria and budgetary issues.* Assist and develop skills with drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors.* Assist with the review of plans and technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates under the supervision of a senior engineer.* Assist senior engineers with field observations, design interpretations, and design updates during construction.* The duties and responsibilities describe this position's general nature and scope of work. This is a partial listing, and other responsibilities will be assigned based on the position’s role within the business unit.## ## **WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:*** Ability to learn Engineering Analytic programs for short circuits, overcurrent coordination, and arc flash mitigation programs, e.g., SKM, E-Tap,etc. Develop familiarity with codes, and energy efficiency requirements* Ability to learn and become competent in AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Map3D, Autodesk Civil3D, Google Earth, PVsyst, PVcase, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), and Illuminance software.* Ability to manage multiple tasks under the supervisor’s direction.* Ability to work to meet deadlines and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude* Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position* Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player* Ability to interact effectively and professionally.## COMPETENCIES:* Teamwork* Productivity* Strategic thinking## **WHAT YOU BRING TO US:*** Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architectural engineering, construction sciences, or equivalent experience.* Currently working on Engineering in Training from the National Council of Engineering Examiners (NCEES)* Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience## ## **TRAVEL:*** Up to 10% (Does not include local field visits)**WORKING CONDITIONS:*** General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
