MSTS, the contractor for NNSS at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, NV, seeks an Electrical Engineer to join a small, agile team focused on high‑hazard research and production projects.

You will design circuitry, RF systems, and embedded hardware, develop custom PCBs with Altium, and collaborate with software and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration. U.S. citizenship and DOE security clearance are required. Annual salary range is $67,704–$101,566.40, with a 4/10 work schedule.

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Responsibilities

The Remote Sensing Laboratory-Nellis (RSLN) Special Programs group is seeking an outstanding candidate for an Electrical Engineer position supporting various projects that range from R&D-like efforts to production level fabrication. The ideal candidate will work with an agile team of engineers and help bring an innovative mechanical approach to solve challenging problems.

Qualifications

Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) required for Civil, Mechanical and Electrical engineering degrees;
  • Or, Calculus-based STEM bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Or, for Architects, Certification from the National Council or Architectural Registration Board (NCARB)
  • Or Professional Engineer license
• Skill building experience must demonstrate either deeper technical specialization or additional cross disciplinary knowledge. Graduate research experience may be recognized.
• Ability to interpret codes and standards within the discipline in which they were hired.
• Excellent communications skills are highly desired.
• Experience with other engineering disciplines is highly desired.
• The primary work location will be based at the Remote Sensing Laboratory at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, NV (RSL-N).
• Work schedule for this position will be 4/10’s, Monday – Thursday (subject to change).
• Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4 , ‘Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,’ will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required.
