Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer at Fort Meade, MD to lead or contribute to the design, analysis, and verification of complex electronic hardware for next‑generation national defense systems.

The role demands hands‑on engineering from concept through prototype and production support, with security clearance requirements in TS/SCI with Poly. This is a full‑time exempt position within HII Mission Technologies' Warfare Systems group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or HS diploma with 4 years relevant experience.
• TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Poly at time of application.
• Experience in hardware design, analysis and testing preferred.

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Hardware Design Engineer to lead or contribute significantly to the design, analysis, and verification of complex electronic hardware for next-generation national defense systems. The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer responsible for transforming conceptual requirements into tangible, reliable, and secure hardware solutions, from initial circuit design and simulation through prototyping, testing, and production support.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Previous experience working at or with Intelligence Community is a plus
