Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking an Engineer, Facilities Automation to drive digital transformation within Facilities by developing automation, AI, and data-driven solutions that optimize workflows and improve efficiency. You will partner with Construction, Design & Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, and other teams to deliver scalable improvements and data-driven decision support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience developing, supporting, or implementing automation, analytics, and process improvements.
  • 2+ years of experience with data, reporting, and business intelligence tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, SharePoint, Copilot, UiPath).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support automation and AI-enabled solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort across Facilities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple engineering and operations domains to deliver high-impact process improvements.
  • Lead evaluation and implementation of AI capabilities including analytics, NLP, and decision-support solutions.

Job Summary: The Engineer, Facilities Automation helps advance digital transformation across the Facilities organization by developing automation, AI, and data-driven solutions that improve efficiency, simplify processes, and increase insight into business operations. Working closely with cross-functional partners across Facilities, this role finds opportunities to optimize workflows, strengthen data-driven decision-making, and deliver scalable solutions that support business objectives. This position plays a key role in accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence within Facilities. The successful candidate will evaluate and implement practical AI use cases, integrate AI-enabled capabilities into everyday processes, and help teams effectively leverage emerging technologies, including Microsoft Copilot. Through collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, this role supports productivity, operational excellence, compliance, and long-term business value.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and support automation and AI-enabled solutions that improve operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and reduce manual effort across Facilities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Construction, Design & Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Gas, Water, Warehouse, Sustainability, EHS, and Project Coordination to identify and deliver high-impact process improvements.
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of AI capabilities, including predictive analytics, intelligent monitoring, natural language processing, and decision-support solutions.
  • Develop scalable automation frameworks and integrate solutions with enterprise systems, operational processes, and business applications, including SAP and ECBP workflows.
  • Create and maintain data integration, reporting, and analytics solutions that transform complex data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Measure, monitor, and continuously improve automation and AI solutions to ensure reliability, scalability, accuracy, and business value.
  • Lead projects from requirements gathering and solution design through implementation, adoption, and change management while maintaining alignment with safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning by sharing knowledge, coaching team members, and encouraging the effective use of automation, AI, and data-driven tools.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience developing, supporting, or implementing automation, analytics, and process improvement solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience applying data, reporting, and business intelligence tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, SharePoint, Microsoft Copilot, UiPath, or similar technologies.
  • Experience leading projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions from concept and design through implementation and adoption.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience using automation platforms, scripting languages, or workflow technologies to drive business process improvements.
Preferred Requirements
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience applying technologies such as Python, VBA, Snowflake, SAP, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Experience integrating AI and automation capabilities into business processes, operational workflows, or enterprise systems.
  • Knowledge of data governance, process optimization, guiding organizational transition, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Experience developing scalable reporting, analytics, or automation solutions within complex operational or engineering environments.
