Descrição da oferta de emprego

Job Title: Engineer - Equipment Training Engineer

A job at TSMC Arizona offers an opportunity to work at one of the most advanced semiconductor fabs in the United States. Today, TSMC Arizona’s first fab is in full operations on its N5 and N4 process technology. Its second fab will utilize its N3 process technology and will start operations in the second half of 2027. Its third fab will manufacture chips using 2nm or even more advanced process technology, with production starting by the end of the decade. America’s leading technology companies rely on TSMC Arizona for the next generations of chips that will power the AI and digital future.

As an Equipment Training Engineer, you will demonstrate a strong sense of reliability and enthusiasm and will possess an attitude that embodies our core values – Integrity, Commitment, Innovation and Customer Trust.

  • As an Equipment Training Engineer at the Fab21 (F21) Component Training Center, you will be the hands‑on technical mentor who shapes the next generation of semiconductor talent. On a daily basis, you transition between being an instructional leader, a technical expert, and an equipment owner. You will run intensive, simulator‑based training labs across 9 core technical domains—ranging from RF systems and vacuum technology to chemical wet cleans and robotics. When you aren't actively teaching new engineers how to safely handle tools and troubleshoot machine alarms, you are responsible for maintaining and calibrating the center's highly specialized training systems to ensure perfect operational readiness. Additionally, you will collaborate with key hardware vendors to integrate cutting‑edge technologies into the classroom, while aligning your training curriculum with HQ standards to ensure all engineering graduates are factory‑ready and certified to work in the cleanroom.
Job Description

Your main responsibilities include:

  • 40% | Technical Instruction & Troubleshooting Support
    • Deliver standard, hands‑on technical training and practical troubleshooting courses across nine core domains: RF, Vacuum, Wet Clean, Chiller, Transfer System, t-Loadport, Gas, Heater, and Hand Tools.
    • Assist trainees in understanding component‑level working principles and executing simulator‑based diagnostics while strictly enforcing cleanroom SOPs.
  • 40% | Equipment & Tool Maintenance
    • Perform daily inspections, preventative maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of the training center's specialized tools, instructional mechanical kits, and simulator equipment to ensure safety and operational readiness.
  • 10% | Training Material Updates & Trainee Guidance
    • Assist in updating basic training materials and simulator‑based fault scenarios.
    • Provide basic evaluations of trainee progress and help new hires get acclimated to the cleanroom environment and general corporate culture.
  • 10% | Vendor Coordination Support
    • Coordinate with component vendors for routine tool servicing, spare parts delivery, and support the logistics for vendor‑led technical seminars.
Minimum Requirement
  • Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States and have:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during hands‑on training instruction. Ability to lift, carry, and manipulate training equipment, mechanical kits, and hand tools (up to 25 lbs).
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions (gripping, turning, calibrating) during equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to work in a training center environment with exposure to industrial equipment noise, compressed gases, RF radiation, and chemical agents used in wet‑clean demonstrations.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods during curriculum design, documentation, and office‑based work.
  • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and mouse for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE including cleanroom garments (gowning) when entering or demonstrating cleanroom‑adjacent environments.
Education
  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree (master’s degree as preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
Preferred Skills & Experiences
  • Vendor & Tool Expertise: Hands‑on experience or official certifications from major semiconductor equipment manufacturers (e.g., Applied Materials, ASML, Lam Research, TEL) or key component suppliers.
  • Instructional Excellence: Proven track record as an internal trainer, technical instructor, or equipment mentor in a high‑volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Deep expertise in RF matching networks, advanced vacuum leak detection, or robot calibration and teaching.
  • Instructional Design: Experience in developing simulator‑based training modules, e‑learning platforms, or interactive virtual reality (VR) training tools.
  • Core Competencies: Proficient in semiconductor core components, cleanroom safety, and troubleshooting methodologies. Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
Shift
  • Standard work hours: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pm
