Engineer - Equipment III- Overland Park, KS (Onsite Only)-
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Equipment Engineer III to support wireless network deployment projects by managing equipment planning, procurement, forecasting, and logistics. This role will work closely with engineering, construction, and project management teams to ensure the right equipment is available to support project timelines and network build activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and design support for equipment across multiple telecom projects.
- Forecast equipment requirements based on project schedules and deployment timelines.
- Create and manage material requests and purchase orders.
- Coordinate equipment procurement activities with OEMs, distributors, and vendors.
- Track equipment inventory, deliveries, and expenditures.
- Monitor equipment orders to ensure timely delivery and project readiness.
- Oversee equipment receipt, acceptance, and issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) documentation aligned with network design requirements.
- Collaborate with RF Engineers, Construction Managers, and Project Managers to support deployment schedules.
- Identify and resolve equipment shortages, delivery delays, and procurement challenges.
- Support reporting and tracking of equipment-related project metrics.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of experience in equipment engineering, procurement, logistics, or telecom deployment.
- Strong experience forecasting equipment needs based on project timelines.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, supply chains, OEMs, distributors, and suppliers.
- Expertise in BOM (Bill of Materials) management and material tracking.
- Knowledge of wireless telecommunications infrastructure, LTE, and 5G deployments.
- Experience creating and managing purchase orders and material requests.
- Strong project coordination and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail with a focus on order accuracy and inventory tracking.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting wireless network deployment projects.
- Familiarity with telecom equipment procurement processes.
- Experience working with RF Engineering and Construction teams.
- Knowledge of inventory management and equipment lifecycle tracking tools.
