Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support integration, test, and sustainment efforts for our ground-based Space Domain Awareness (SDA) radar systems. This position is in Colorado Springs, Colorado in support of SDA radar systems. This role will serve as a RF Analog Hardware electrical engineer for an SDA radar system focused on deep space objects. This position will assist the IPT lead with design, development, and integration of Radio Frequency (RF) and Analog Subsystems into the overall radar design. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and must possess fundamental electrical engineering skills. Demonstrated ability to foster diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including receiving mentoring and coaching from leads is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in collaborating with Engineering teams and associated stakeholders.

Job Duties
  • Conduct verification and validation of subsystem and full-system requirements, ensuring compliance with mission specifications.
  • Participate in system integration, checkout, integrated system tests, environmental tests, and final delivery.
  • Perform calibration, validation, and setup of test racks and test equipment; execute test set moves, validate test configurations, and troubleshoot hardware and software anomalies.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, external partners, and internal program leaders to align test objectives, report results, and integrate feedback.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation, including test procedures, troubleshooting instructions, and reports.
  • May perform research, evaluation, and systems integration in electrical or electro-mechanical systems, cables, connectors, power systems, test equipment, and more.
  • Travel, as necessary, to support program needs across different locations, shifts, or time zones.
Basic Qualifications
  • United States Citizenship Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
  • In addition, the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance is required.
  • 2 years with bachelor’s in science STEM is required
  • Familiarity with architecture and design of complex RF and Analog hardware systems
  • Familiarity with Agile principles
  • Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering principles
  • Familiar with the use of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system to document and maintain a technical baseline
  • Ability to listen effectively, take direction, and possess initiative to accomplish assigned tasks and complete work in a timely fashion
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications
  • An active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system-level test issues, including RF hardware, configurations, and software anomalies.
  • Experience with HW/SW Integration
  • Ability to work within the Atlassian tool set (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience with the use of CAMEO as a model-based systems engineering tool
  • Ability to work within an RF lab environment and familiar with RF test equipment (i.e., spectrum analyzers, network analyzers)
Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

  • Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
  • Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
  • Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
