Job summary

SIERRA PACIFIC INDUSTRIES in Red Bluff, California is seeking a Design Engineer to work collaboratively with the Windows division. Responsibilities include designing for window and door systems, testing products, and assisting in manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, have 2-5 years of relevant experience, and be familiar with Solid Works and AutoCAD. Excellent low-cost health benefits and a retirement plan are offered.

• Familiarity with window/door designs and installations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design for window and door systems.
• Test and analyze new and existing products.
• Assist in development and improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate components and materials with suppliers.
• Work with sales and marketing team to evaluate feedback.
• Assist with product testing and certification.
• Maintain accurate documentation.

About the Position

Design Engineer to work collaboratively with the Windows division in either Red Bluff, California or Medford, Wisconsin.

• Engineer designs for window and door systems
• Design, test, and analyze new and existing products
• Assist in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes
• Work with suppliers to evaluate components and materials
• Work with sales and marketing team and evaluate feedback on product performance
• Assist with testing and certification of products
• Provide and maintain accurate documentation regarding products
• Work in a team environment involving production, customer service, and sales

Qualifications

• Preferred candidates will have a minimum 2-5 years of experience in window and door design
• B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or related field preferred
• Familiarity with window/door designs and installation of them is a plus
• Experience with Solid Works and AutoCAD is highly desirable
• Possess strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
